"I originally booked to go as early in the morning as I could, however due to the snow impacting my plans I changed to a later booking and went at the end of the day. The staff were so helpful with arranging this for me. And I’m so glad I did it this way! I saw the blue lagoon in the daylight with the beautiful creamy blue water, then witnessed sunset and enjoyed time surrounded by the dark, starry night sky as well. As it got later the steam got better and better which was great. I really enjoyed the whole experience! I just wish it had been more obvious that the cocktail slushy I ordered (thinking it was my free drink) was in fact an ‘upgrade’ with an additional cost."

What the Blue Lagoon Really Costs
Comfort vs Premium, the price in your currency, what drives it up or down, and how to pay the least.
So, how much does the Blue Lagoon cost? The short answer: the standard Comfort admission starts around $145, the Premium upgrade around $168, and admission-with-transfer bundles from roughly $226 — while at the luxury end, the separate Retreat Spa experience (its own private lagoon and spa ritual) starts around $889. There is no separate “entry fee” on top — the ticket price is the admission, and even the cheapest Comfort ticket already includes the lagoon, the silica mud mask, a towel and a drink. The catch is that the Blue Lagoon uses demand-based, timed-entry pricing, so the exact figure you pay shifts with the date and time slot you choose — which is why the official site only shows it once you start booking. Below is the full picture, in your currency, with the live price one tap away.

Currency figures are approximate conversions of the booking price (rates move, and demand pricing means quieter slots can be cheaper) — the widget shows the exact live amount in your currency before you pay.

Why the Blue Lagoon costs what it does
A few things keep the price high — and explain why it swings:
- Demand-based pricing. Like an airline, the Blue Lagoon charges more for popular slots (summer, late morning to mid-afternoon) and less for quieter ones (winter, early morning, late evening). The same Comfort ticket can differ by date.
- Timed, capacity-capped entry. The lagoon limits how many people are in the water at once, so slots are finite and the headline experience stays uncrowded — you’re paying for that scarcity.
- It’s all-in. Even the entry-level Comfort ticket bundles the mask, towel and a drink, so there’s no “cheap bare ticket” the way some attractions price it.
The cheapest way to visit the Blue Lagoon
You can meaningfully lower the cost without missing anything that matters — the water, the mask and the setting are identical across tiers:
- Book the Comfort ticket, not Premium. Comfort includes everything that makes the Blue Lagoon the Blue Lagoon. Premium is a comfort upgrade (robe, second mask, sparkling wine), not a better lagoon.
- Pick an off-peak slot. Early-morning, late-evening and winter dates are usually the lowest-priced — and the quietest.
- Drive instead of bundling a transfer. If you have a rental car, the standalone Comfort ticket is cheaper than the admission-with-transfer bundle; there’s free parking on site, about 20 minutes from Keflavík Airport.
- Visit on your airport day. The lagoon sits between Keflavík Airport and Reykjavík, so stopping on the way in or out turns the transfer cost into part of your journey rather than an extra trip.
- Book ahead. Slots sell out and walk-up isn’t reliable; reserving early gets you the lower-priced windows before they’re gone.
Is the Blue Lagoon worth the money?
Honestly: it’s expensive, and it’s also the single image most people associate with Iceland — opaque silica-blue water steaming over black lava, a mud mask on your face, a drink at the in-water bar. If that’s on your list, the Comfort ticket delivers exactly that, and free cancellation up to 24 hours before takes the risk out of booking early. If you’re price-sensitive and just want a geothermal soak, Iceland has lower-cost alternatives — but none with the Blue Lagoon’s specific look and ritual. Book Comfort, pick an off-peak slot, and you get the icon without the Premium premium.

Prices, packages and the cheapest way to visit — answered.
The standard Comfort admission starts around $145 (≈ £113 / €132), and the Premium upgrade around $168 (≈ £131 / €153). Admission-with-transfer bundles start near $226. The Blue Lagoon uses demand-based pricing, so your exact price depends on the date and time slot — the booking widget shows the live amount in your currency.
There is no separate entry fee — the ticket price is the admission. The cheapest option is the Comfort ticket, from about $145, which already includes lagoon access, the silica mud mask, a towel and one drink.
No. The Blue Lagoon is a paid geothermal spa with pre-booked, timed entry. The lowest-priced option is the Comfort admission, from around $145.
Book the Comfort ticket rather than Premium, choose an off-peak slot (early morning, late evening, or winter dates, which are demand-priced lower), and drive yourself instead of adding a transfer if you have a car. Booking ahead also secures the lower-priced windows before they sell out.
Three reasons: demand-based pricing (popular summer and midday slots cost more), capacity-capped timed entry that keeps the lagoon uncrowded, and an all-inclusive ticket — even the entry-level Comfort price bundles the silica mud mask, a towel and a drink, so there is no stripped-down cheap ticket.
Premium costs roughly $20–25 more than Comfort. For that you get a second mask of your choice, a bathrobe and slippers, a glass of sparkling wine and a restaurant reservation. The lagoon, the water and the signature silica mud mask are identical in both — you are paying for extras, not a better lagoon.
If the iconic milky-blue water, the silica mud mask and the lava-field setting are on your Iceland list, the Comfort ticket delivers exactly that, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. To keep the cost down, book Comfort and pick an off-peak slot. If you only want a geothermal soak, Iceland has cheaper alternatives — but none with the Blue Lagoon's specific look and ritual.
Yes. Every Comfort admission includes access to the geothermal lagoon, the silica mud mask, a towel and one drink of your choice from the in-water bar. Premium adds a second mask, a robe and slippers, and a sparkling-wine drink.
Beyond the standard Comfort and Premium admission to the main lagoon, the Blue Lagoon Retreat is a separate luxury experience — a private Retreat Lagoon, a spa ritual and a private changing suite. It starts around $889, several times the price of Comfort, and is a different product rather than a tier of the normal admission. For most visitors, Comfort or Premium is the ticket they mean by 'Blue Lagoon.'
Yes — most visitors spend about 1.5 to 2.5 hours. You book a timed arrival window rather than a fixed time limit, so once you are in you can soak, use the mask bar and the in-water bar at your own pace.
Yes. The booking widget displays the live price in your local currency before you pay. As a guide, the Comfort admission is roughly $145 / £113 / €132 and Premium roughly $168 / £131 / €153, though demand pricing means quieter slots can be lower.
